Brief;
In this task, you will develop an understanding of the fundamentals of typography and begin to apply these principles in the layout of text and image. The emphasis will be on introducing a more formal and iterative graphic design process resulting in a project-based outcome. You are to select one of the terms readings to form the text content and thematic approach of your publication design and create the design and page layout for a typographic journal.
When it came to this project, I wanted to create a publication that used its subject matter as the main source of imagery. I created marks using wine and wine glasses as a way of creating an interesting composition and encapsulating the essence of the reading. I played around with a number of colour schemes before ending on a bright orange that highlights sections and created a bold contrast with the black and white imagery.
