Design a collaborative cooking app that encourages social connection with its user.
For this cooking app, I wanted to encourage social connection through an app that is modelled after social media that we all use and allows for the sharing of recipes and photos of food. I aimed for a range of options that encourages sustainability including ones for “what’s in the fridge,” looking at using ingredients that you already have, and “In Season” that allows for the use of ingredients that are currently in season and thus cheaper and more environmentally friendly. I also added a function to lead people to local grocers and Little Free Pantries to encourage local community connections and interactions.
